RV Switch & Swap

It's Pumpkin Season!

Switch and swap out your RV decor to give it a new look for the season. There are many ways to stay budget friendly in doing so whether it be a new pillow, fall candles, or even a new blanket. There are simple ways to change up your RV's look to make it feel warm and cozy just as if you're at home curled up by the fireplace.

1. Change Out a Pillow or Pillow Cover
These pillow covers are all under $10 and can totally change the look of your living room or bedroom.

2. Get a New Fall Scented Candle
You can get new candles at many different places. The dollar store has fall candles, any home decor store, or even the grocery store. It is an easy way to give your RV the cozy fall feeling and smell.

3. Drape a Fall Colored Blanket Over the Couch
Burnt orange, mustard yellow, cream, brown, or even plaid are all great colors that would go with a cute fall pillow on the couch.

All Things Pumpkin

Let's Give them Pumpkin to Talk About...

Hot Pumpkin Spice

This delicious and kid friendly hot pumpkin spice can be made on the cook top stove or in a pot over the campfire. You can let the kids be creative and "spice" things up different ways. It can be made coffee-less if some of the kiddos don't like coffee and can easily have coffee added to it for you moms or dads that need the extra caffeine boost.

Snack Time

YUM!

Who doesn't love snacks? I mean come on - we're always snacking here at Veurink's RV Center. The weather is changing a bit and the camping nights are getting a little cooler. We aren't quite ready to take the full plunge into fall with all things pumpkin, so we came up with some "summer transitioning into fall" snacks for you!

Cinnamon Apple Chips
I would say first is the worst with this recipe, but eating healthy doesn't always have to stink. These cinnamon apple chips are healthy, delicious and so easy!

S'mores Chocolate Bark
This recipe is a bit more of a "sweet treat". Indulge in these chocolaty s'more treats for a daytime or nighttime snack. Hey, if you want it for breakfast too - we don't judge!

Recipe found at: Wine and Glue

Reese's Snack Mix
This is the easiest one yet! You can keep a little bowl of this laying around on your campsite picnic table or inside on the dinette for a rainy day. Whip this little mix together in no time.

Recipe found at: Oh Sweet Basil

These are some fun ideas to make while RVing...with your children and grandchildren.
Save some for us. If you make these sweet treats, send us some photos!

Decorating Your RV on a Budget

RV Decorating Tips on a Budget

Do you want that "homey" decorated feel in your RV but don't want to break the bank doing so? Here are some tips we have learned at Veurink's RV Center.

1. Don't underestimate the dollar store.
It's surprising what you may find at the dollar store sometimes. We found these cute little succulents hanging out at our dollar store down the road. These little guys were only $1-$2. They add the perfect touch to a side table, bathroom corner, or kitchen counter for a homey feel in your RV. Better yet- you don't even have to try to keep them alive!

Succulents found at Dollar General.

2. Re-purpose your old home decor.
If you don't live in your RV and have extra old home decor laying around your house, it may not be ready to be thrown out just yet! If you are sick of seeing it in your home, add some paint or other little things to dress it up for a new look that you could use in your RV. This is a very cost effective way to add some spice to your camper. You could recover an old pillow with an old sweater you no longer use or some clearance fabric from JoAnn Fabrics (or your local fabric store). Paint an old flower pot or use a vintage kitchen bowl and steal some flower stems from an old table arrangement you don't use anymore. Throw together a new table arrangement for your RV. Old is the new-new!

Here's an easy tutorial on how to make an envelope style slip cover for an old pillow that we found on curbly.com.

3. Use old food or storage jars and boxes.
A can of spray paint can go a long way. You can also use the leftover paint from redoing your kitchen last fall. Grab an old pasta sauce or salsa jar, clean it up real good, and paint it from the inside for a glossier look or the outside for a more matte look. If you have a creative hand, you can also add some fun calligraphy or even printable letters/words off of the internet to trace on your painted jar. You can use the jars purposefully and put your wooden spoons in them or decoratively with some real or faux flowers to liven up your RV. Things that are normally thrown away or recycled can be transformed in a whole new way. If you have a rainy day while camping and are stuck inside anyways, get your creative thinking going and see what you can find to transform!
