Kids RV Games

Are we there yet?

How many of you have heard this phrase just one too many times? It might be your kids, or maybe even your husband or wife. We at Veurink's RV Center don't think this should be a reason to slow you down on your camping adventures! We have put together a few suggestions that may reduce the number of times you hear this question on your way to your next travel destination. Traveling can be long and draining for kids sometimes but we have some fun activities that will hopefully make your journey to your next campground destination enjoyable and with little to no "are we there yets". Check out some of our fun ideas we've put together!

1. Busy Bags: Fill a brown paper lunch bag or an old baby wipes container with some fun little goodies for your kiddos (each one gets their own-this reduces lots of arguing). Run to the nearest dollar store and fill the bag with little things like a snack, toy, small activity book, etc. Depending on how long the road trip is, you could gift a new bag every so many hours to get you through the trip. These usually keep the kids busy for a while. It can also be customized to their age/what they would like.

2. Scavenger Hunt Cards: These cards are a fun way to pass the time and bonus- quite inexpensive! These scavenger hunt cards can be found on amazon. However, if you are feeling extra crafty and thrifty, you can make these cards on your own with a few simple supplies. This can get kids of all ages and adults involved for a game the whole family will enjoy.

3. 20 Questions: Let each kid have a turn. Younger children could do an animal or food or something of the sorts. They will then give 3 clues and from there everyone else in the car gets to ask yes or no questions to see if they can guess what it is within 20 questions.

4. Sticker/Coloring Books: Bring it back to the basics here with a coloring book of choice. They have fun ones at the dollar store or otherwise many times you can find free printable versions of their favorite TV or book characters online before you go. You can switch things up with a stencil or sticker book to keep things interesting if so desired. If you're feeling "extra", you can also make each child their own coloring kits and be creative that way as well. A big bin of coloring supplies that can be propped up between the kids is always good too. There are many possibilities here so whatever works best for your kids and family is a great way to go!

We hope you enjoy these suggestions for your next RV trip. We snagged these ideas from Wandering Bird and The Typical Mom
