Veurinks' RV Center
__________________________________________________________________

This is the 3rd year, that Veurinks' RV Center has received this award from
RV Business. We are honored to be recognized as one of the top 50 RV Dealers in the country. We want to thank RV Business, each one of our staff members for their service, as well as each one of our Veurinks' RV family members....our customers!

Here is a little bit of who we are and why we were chosen as one of the Top 50 RV Dealers. A little bit of the interview process with RV Business:

RV Business: When was your company founded?
Tim Veurink: 1954. 60 years ago, my Dad, Howard Veurink, went into business with my grandpa, Adrian Veurink. They sold both travel trailers and mobile homes.

In 1963, Howard opened his RV only dealership and picked up the Holiday Rambler brand. 51 years later, we still sell that brand. In 1991, Howard sold the dealership to myself (Tim Veurink) and my sister, Tammy.

In 1998, the dealership moved down the road, 3 miles, and built a state of the art 21,000 sq. ft. facility, on 8 acres. Currently, the dealership employs 32 people and we are continually growing. We have gained a significant market share in towables with KZ RV and Dutchmen. We are also known as the place to go for servicing luxury diesel motorhomes and we sell Holiday Rambler, American Coach, and Coachmen SportsCoach Diesel Motorhomes. We service all brands. We have a huge line of factory replacement parts, that are selling all over the country.

RV Business: What new RV brands and product types do you offer?
Tim Veurink: KZ RV and Dutchmen towables, Holiday Rambler gas and diesel A's and C's, American Coach Luxury Diesels, as well as Coachmen SportsCoach Diesels.

RV Business: Do you sell used RV's?
Tim Veurink: Yes we do!

RV Business: Do you have a stated management philosophy?
Tim Veurink: Yes. This can be found on our website. We have a mission (what we do,) and a vision (what we want to be,) statements. We also have core values, that defines how we will do business. These values are Excellence, Customer Delight, Teamwork, Integrity, and Fun. These values are the Owners and Employees "default," when it comes to making decisions. As Christian owners, our philosophy is that it is God's company (Psalm 127:1,) and it is our purpose to honor Him in the arena of the market place. Each department has clear goals and each employee has a job description. Our motto is "Go RVing with Us," picking up on the
Go RVing campaign. It is also a reflection of who we are as a family owned and operated store, who also enjoys the RV lifestyle.

RV Business: Do you service all customers of come to your dealership or only those who bought RVs from you?
Tim Veurink: All. We service all customers, regardless of where they buy their RV from.

RV Business: How do you go about ensuring that customers know how to use their RVs?
Tim Veurink: We do a walk through, that is very in depth. One of our technicians will walk the customer through the inside and outside of their RV, as well as answer any questions they may have. Then, we have  walk through of the Veurinks' RV Camp Store, suggesting items that make RVing more enjoyable.

RV Business: What is your company's philosophy with regard to ongoing employee development programs, across all levels of your dealership's staff?
Tim Veurink: We are only as good as our staff. We do training when and where it is needed. We attend Industry summits & events to strengthen our leadership skills & knowledge. We also bring in vendors and our factory reps for Sales, Service, and Parts training to increase our expertise on each model & brand we offer and service.

RV Business: Is your dealership actively engaged in any charitable or non-profit initiatives--civic, religious, or political, whether or not it's tied to your promotional activities?
Tim Veurink: Yes. We put our charitable giving into our budget. We do mostly Christian based, both domestic and international, youth ministries, poverty missions, counseling ministries, local schools, orphanages, detention center ministries, as well as local churches. We also sponsor golf outings, auctions, and banquets.

RV Business: What is it that really sets your dealership apart from the pack? Why, in your words, do you consider your store among the top recreational vehicle dealerships in the land?
Tim Veurink: I am always humbled in this business, because there are so many great dealers. I think our family's longevity in this business for 60 years shows we are more than a survivor, we are also a thriving and growing business. We have a unique blend of "old school" ideas, that are timeless yet still work, along with keeping an eye on cutting edge industry changes. We have a willingness to be agents of change, in a changing market.

In addition to our 32 employees, we do employ 5 family members, in which 2 of them are stock holders. We all love RVing and enjoy the RV lifestyle. Our team is very accessible and available to each other and customers. We can be contacted at any time, when needed.

In this book called, "Good to Great," by Jim Collins, he says a couple of things.

1. "Being GOOD will get in the way of being a great company." For me, that means we are never ever at a destination, but always on a journey to improve and grow our dealership. I think we are doing that every day.

2. The other thing Jim says is, "know what it is that you are great at and better than your competition." I think for us, when it comes to best practices, operations, product offerings and services, we are as good as any large dealership. At the same time, we are small, like a family. If you are our customer, more than likely, I, or a family member, would have met you at some point and even know your name. We like to say, "big enough to serve, small enough to care." I think our blend of this culture is better than anyone out there.

We have a very unique factory replacement parts business and an on site camp store. Our parts and service department is well equipped to serve our customers needs.

I believe our facility is 5 star all the way and very few stores are doing what we are doing. This truly sets us apart from other RV dealerships. Our 28 display units and well manicured landscaped RV sites, are a glimpse of the RV lifestyle, right at our dealership. It is very impressive to anyone who sees it and it gives a shopper a real good idea of what the unit will look like parked in their site at the campground. They will also have an opportunity to have the coach plugged in and able to run the components and do a full demo.
