"As I am new to RV world, I have picked up several important tips. The one that resonates most with me would be the following: When you are checking into your campsite and you are about to back in or park your trailer, it is wise to have your wife, girlfriend, spouse, with the kids, take a tour of the campground so that you can park the trailer by yourself. As an argument or disagreement can arise very quickly if the spouse is there trying to “help” or “coach” you into your spot. By having them away you can prevent your camping trip from starting out with a argument." -Joel

Gus Macker Tournament 2014

When Joel isn't at work, he enjoys the following activities: Movie watching (I enjoy a good movie), reading (a good mystery of thriller.) He enjoys taking his 2 dogs for walks on the Kentwood walking trails and playing fetch at the local dog park....he has a German Shepard and Husky/Shepard mix. He really enjoys playing basketball, along with playing with his wife and friends on game nights (I enjoy winning!) Joel also loves traveling internationally. His first trip was in high school and that was built from being born in Guam. The countries he haas traveled to are Spain, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Greece, and Rome.

Joel's favorite place to go RVing is Oxbow Park in Newaygo, Michigan. He says it is a great place for year round vacationing with a beautiful lake to boat in and beach to swim.

"I love that people are very passionate about RVing. It is a great way to explore new places and meet new people. As North American is very expansive, and we don’t have a good transportation system that allows you to travel around the country, RVing allows you to do that with the comfort of home.  I admire people that want to “see it all” and an RV allows you to do that. I am seeing people of all ages taking up RVing and I realize that RVing is for everyone, whether it be with a pop-up or a fifth wheel. The options or endless if you want to hit the open road or camp each weekend at your favorite campground."
